Douglas N. Nelson

Doug serves in an “of counsel” capacity bringing his 30 years of experience in probate, real estate and business law to the firm.  He is a lifelong resident of the Port Huron Area and a U.S. Army Vietnam War Veteran.   Prior to joining the firm he was managing partner of Douglas N. Nelson P.C. and preveously was a Vice President of the Michigan National Bank’s Trust Department. Doug earned  B.A and M.A degrees from Northern Michigan University and a J.D. from Michigan State University college of Law (f/k/a Detroit College of Law).  He has been  active in leadership positions in numerous community organizations including serving as co- chairman of the  Mercy Hospital Development Board,  and as a director of Goodwill Industries and the Center for Independant Living and served as an instructor for courses offered through St. Clair county Community College and the National Banking Association.  Doug is married with four children and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and St. Clair County Bar Association.
